The visual arts project Cáceres Abierto continues its course. From June 1 to June 25, many interventions and performances on contemporary art and culture will be delivered in public places, exhibitions, panels, workshops and audiovisual pieces in the city of Cáceres. It is a project promoted by the General Secretariat of Culture of the Regional Government of Extremadura and the Extremadura Cultural Foundation, in collaboration with various entities, open to public participation.
The www.caceresabierto.comwebsite offers all the updated information and the list of activities, the majority of which will be held from Thursday, June 1 to Sunday, 4 June. A fundamental resource to find out everything about the project and participate, where the contents will be regularly updated.
Although the participating artists have been working on the project since January 2017 and some performances have already started, the major part of the programme will take place from June 1 to June 25, especially the first week of the month (from Thursday, June 1 to Sunday, June 4), when the exhibitions will be opened and different performances, presentations and panels will be carried out.
Among the projects already underway, is the postcard competition called Postal Freek Cáceres, registrations for which are open until May 4, and which is part of the Cáceres Unofficial Tourism conceived by the Basque artist Iñaki Larrimbe.
On May 18, celebrated as the International Museum Day,the artist Azucena Vieiteswill conduct a workshop for children called Coloring Book at the Cáceres Museum, the art material generated from which will be displayed during the exhibition that will open on June 2.
During the week of May 24, we will organise preparatory workshops for the simultaneous performance, to be carried out by Isabel Leónon June 3 at institutions such as the Helga de Alvear Foundation Visual Arts Centreand the Cáceres Museumand at other public places of the city.
