Today, we presented the complete list of activities of Cáceres Abierto at the Cáceres Museum. Numerous public art projects that will take place from June 1 – June 25, although most of the activities are scheduled to be held from June 1 – June 4, 2017.
During the review of the list of activities, we explained to the media that Cáceres Abierto is not intended to be a conventional visual arts project as it does not only aim to materialise artistic interventions, exhibitions and panels. Cáceres Abierto is a process of active collaboration, with institutions as well as with different educational, cultural and social groups from within and outside the region; an open process that has tried to weave a wide net of exchange, communication and participatory, dynamic and enriching connections. This is evidenced by the involvement of more than thirty entities that have directly collaborated on the projectand the conception of some activities that count on the presence of the citizens and seek their involvement in the same.
The event was graced by the presence of director general of Libraries, Museums and Cultural Heritage, Francisco Pérez Urbán, the City Councillor for Tourism and Commerce Department of Cáceres City Council, Raúl Rodríguez, and the curator of Cáceres Abierto, Jorge Díez Acón. Other attendees include associate curator, Julio Vázquez, the managing director of the Extremadura Cultural Foundation, Ascensión Milán, the director of the Cáceres Museum, Juan Valadés, the director of the Provincial Historical Archive of Cáceres, Esperanza Díaz, and the director of the Vostell Malpartida Museum, José Antonio Agúndez, among others.
