Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres), 1964

A visual artist and sociologist. From the very beginning of his artistic career, he has focused on the sociological perspective of art through Street Photography, and the revision of Classical Photography, driven by the need to go beyond the conventional practices. From these initial approaches, he has evolved towards colour and creation, reinterpreting the image through digital processes. In his works, he combines the vigour and message of photography with the visual power of the photographed subject, manifested in geometry and colour. He places his interest and work where the geographical scopes of the image end, reconceptualising the scene from its own photographic essence.

He has presented his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions and his creations can be found among distinguished collections in spaces such as ENAIRE Foundation, Ferrocarriles Españoles Foundation/ADIF, Ministry of Agriculture, Iberdrola, Centro Hispanoamericano de Cultura of La Habana, Caja de Extremadura Banking Foundation and the Assembly of Extremadura.

His project in Cáceres Abierto 2019

The artist’s work developed in the first edition of Cáceres Abierto is presented through an exhibition, titled Sinapsis (Synapsis), of twenty-two photographs produced for this edition in which he offers a personal vision on the art interventions that took place then. Analogous to the mechanism of communication between neurons, the artist shows a selection of twenty-two pieces, at El Brocense Art Gallery, a graphical representation of those synaptic moments experienced while contemplating each art intervention developed two years ago.
